The guide was originally developed as a result of a demand from many building owners, lessees, and operating management needing guidance for the evacuation of passengers from stalled elevator cars. Today it has evolved to provide guidance for the evacuation of passengers from stalled elevator cars as well as firefighters service operating procedures. Turner Associates, LLCDavis L. Turner graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1968 and is a 53 year veteran of the elevator industry having begun his career with Otis Elevator Company in 1962 in New York in the construction department. Throughout his career with Otis he gained experience in sales, marketing, construction, service, modernization and engineering.In 1988, Mr. Turner joined Mitsubishi Elevator Company, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electronics America, as its Vice President and General Manager. In 1989, he was appointed president of the company.In 1996 Mr. Turner formed Davis L. Turner Associates, LLC, an independent vertical transpo rtation consulting firm located in Mission Viejo, California. The firm provides elevator and escalator technical expertise to a wide range of clients.
